美國(guó)大學(xué)國(guó)際留學(xué)生總數(shù)有所增加英語(yǔ)美文

　　The number of international students at US colleges and universities rose 7 per cent to a record high in the past academic year， according to a report that will be released today。

　　The growth is a small bright spot for American higher education， which has lost its edge in attracting the most talented foreign students， as other countries， such as the UK and Canada， have boosted their investment in graduate education， and embarked on campaigns to recruit top domestic and international students。

　　According to the annual report of the Institute of International Education， the increase builds on a 3 per cent rise reported for last year。 The total number of international students enrolled in US schools exceeds by 6 per cent the previous high reported in the 2002—03 academic year。

　　根據(jù)將于今日公布的一份報(bào)告，過去一學(xué)年，美國(guó)各學(xué)院及大學(xué)的國(guó)際留學(xué)生總數(shù)增加7%，創(chuàng)歷史新高。

　　目前，尤其是在吸引最優(yōu)秀外國(guó)學(xué)生一事上，美國(guó)已失去優(yōu)勢(shì)的情況下，這是美國(guó)高等教育的一個(gè)小亮點(diǎn)。英國(guó)和加拿大等其它國(guó)家均加大了研究生教育投資，并開展各種活動(dòng)，吸引國(guó)內(nèi)外最優(yōu)秀的學(xué)生。

　　根據(jù)國(guó)際教育研究院（Institute of International Education）的年度報(bào)告，去年美國(guó)大學(xué)的留學(xué)生數(shù)量（較前年）增加3%。與此前一次歷史高位（2002年至2003學(xué)年）相比，美國(guó)在校國(guó)際留學(xué)生總數(shù)增加了6%。
